A Good Excuse to Eat Out

Monday, April 24th, 2006

My 10 year old, Sienna, had a report/PowerPoint to do for her class…a restaurant review. Where’d she choose to go, why Benehana’s of course.  The food IS good and fun to watch…they cook it right in front of you, chop, cook, season, all of it. The chef’s like to flip the food around and make a big show out of banging around their spatulas…ours flipped the ends of the shrimp he cut off into his pockets and onto the top of his chef’s hat…lots of fun…pretty good food.

Most interesting, we shared a “table” with another family…sort of funny to feel that barrier broken down, sit right next to a total stranger and eat…hear what they order, hear them eat…sort of interesting. I’m sure there’s some sort of spiritual “thing” here, but I’m too tired to think of it.

Here we are awaiting our chef…
